At dog.able my goal is to have a positive impact on your dog's life.
I use only current, science-based, humane training methods such as positive reinforcement, desensitization, and counter conditioning techniques. Through training, I work with you to identify why a behavior is happening, to understand the body language and signals that precede the behavior, and to manage or modify the behavior issues your dog might be exhibiting. My goal is to develop a course of action specific to you and your dog, and teach you what you need to succeed so that you no longer need me.
Giving you knowledge and skills enables you to build a relationship of trust and respect between you and your dog.
Change doesn't happen over night, it requires time and commitment.
My dog sitting services provide reliable, customized care. I am dedicated to the safety and well being of your dog whether it's on a walk or spending time in your home.
dog.able is licensed and fully insured.
Home visits can offer your dog some needed company and attention while you are out of the house. Before the first home visit I will arrange a 30 minute meeting with you and your dog to get acquainted, to assess your dog's needs and to determine if we are the right fit for each other. There is no charge for this meeting and no obligation to use my service. There are no minimum requirements on the number of home visits per week, and if you just want a home visit every now and again that is totally fine. Home visits must be booked a minimum of 24 hours in advance. Home visits available between 10 am and 6 pm.
Sometimes a dog is less anxious about being way from their people when they can be at home in a familiar environment. dog.able provides a customized approach to overnight care that caters to your dog's requirements and routine and gives you piece of mind. Before the first overnight visit, I will arrange a 30 minute meeting with you and your dog to get acquainted, assess your dog's needs and to determine if we are the right fit for each other. In-home behavioral consultations for clients that are having issues specific to home environment such as leash pulling, excessive barking, resource guarding, separation anxiety, etc. After the consultation, guidance and a training program is created. 1-1.5 hour consultation $125. Follow up sessions 1 hour $100.
Dog reactivity is a challenge for many dog owners. Most dog reactivity is fear-based aggression commonly due to improper socialization or from a bad experience. The reactive dogs learns to use aggression to make what it fears (whether it be another dog, a person or the vacuum) go away in order to protect themselves. Over several 1 hour one-on-one sessions I work with you and your dog, using positive reinforcement to build a framework from which to modify the dog's behavior. The goal of this training is to build your dog's confidence, developing a relationship where your dog looks to you for leadership in an uncertain situation, instead of reacting out of fear. 1.5-2 hour consultation $150. Follow up sessions $100 / hour.
