Tips & Insights
- Not every dog wants doggy friends. Some only like a few other dogs. Some only like other dogs in certain situations. Some don't like other dogs close at all. And that is ok.
- If your dog doesn't like strangers, do not let strangers and dogs into your intimate space (this is a boundary you are setting your your dog). This may require that you change direction or cross the street.
- Before taking your dog for a walk put your phone away and give your dog the quality time any good relationship deserves.
- If your dog is barking at something or someone don't yell at them (especially if you are feeling frustrated). If we yell in these moments we are just fueling their energy. Stay calm, give them clear directions, or if on leash physically redirect them. You want your dog to copy your energy.
